Cowboys and Canyonlands of the Texas Panhandle

Cowboys and Canyonlands in the Texas Panhandle is an immersive photography workshop that will take us into the rugged badlands of the southeast Texas Panhandle. In this workshop, you'll photograph real cowboys, explore rugged canyonlands, and immerse yourself in a part of Texas that time has seemed to forget.

The xxxx Photo Club has an exclusive opportunity to take a guided photo tour with Russell Graves, a Texas photojournalist, who specializes in wildlife, historic sites, and capturing the “rural lifestyle of North Texas”. 

 

This tour will have a fee of $700/per person.

 

What's included?

Permits, entrance fees, and top-notch photo instruction.

 

What's not included?

Transportation to and from Childress, Texas, lodging, and meal costs. 

 

We will reserve a block of rooms for three nights in Childress, Texas so that we'll be in the same hotel for the photo instructional parts of the itinerary.  

Itinerary 

Oct 30 

  • Drive to Childress (about 210 miles, 3.5 hours from Denton)

  • Check in to the hotel by 3 PM. 

  • Early dinner and orientation. 

  • An evening and night shoot around Medicine Mounds (about 40 miles away). 

 

October 31 

  • Caprock Canyon State Park sunrise with landscape and wildlife shoot

  • Lunch TBD 

  • Cowboy shoot near Childress

  • Supper in Childress

 

Nov. 1 

  • Cowboy shoot

  • Lunch in Childress

  • Copper Breaks State Park for landscapes and maybe some wildlife. 

  • Evening/Night shoot of old silos and churches 

Nov 2 

  • Doan’s Store and the O’Dell Jail near Vernon, Tx. 

  • Lunch in Henrietta or Nocona

  • Tour disbands.


 

Cancellation Policy 

To reserve a spot on this photo tour, a 50% deposit of the total cost is required by Sept. 1, 2022

.

If booking within 30 days of the departure date, the total cost of the trip is required in order to make a reservation.

For payments we accept Paypal

If final payments are not received within 30 days of the departure date, we are allowed to consider your reservation canceled and can offer that spot to someone else.

If you do cancel, we require written notice in which cancellation fees in the following amounts will apply:

If canceled within 31 days or more prior to departure- the total cost of the deposit plus a $50 per person administrative fee.

If canceled within 30 days prior to departure - the total cost of the trip fee.

No partial refunds will be made for any reason for parts of the trip that are not used by the client, itinerary changes, or any unforeseen circumstances.

russellgraves.com reserves the right to cancel a trip and is not responsible for any additional expenses incurred during the trip such as medical expenses, clothing, equipment of any kind, etc.

If russellgraves.com cancels, then participants will receive a full refund.
